Montauban (25km): visit the Ingres museum set in the former Episcopal palace, stroll along the redbrick pedestrian streets and take a walk across the national square, so typical of the region. Moissac (10km): another popular stopover point on the pilgrimage trail, this town harbours one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in St Peter's Abbey, in particular its famous cloisters with 76 marble columns. Lauzerte (10km): Middle Age fortified village, it is set on top of a hill, looking over the surrounding region, and is composed of beautiful half-timbered houses."
