Dogana Vecchia Hotel, located in the historical center of Turin, allows the tourist to discover the city in an evocative, mysterious and unusual way. Built at the end of the 18th century, Antica Osteria della Dogana Vecchia offered hospitality to travelers passing through Turin for government affairs, work, tourism, study or cultural events connected to Turin's role as the Savoy Dukedom and capital city of the Kingdom of Sardinia.Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart stayed at Hotel Dogana Vecchia from January 14th to 31st, 1771. He came to Turin to visit the violin school of G. B. Viotti, and he also went to the play of the "Annibale di Torino" by Giovanni Paisiello. On January 14th, 2006 the Associazione Mozart Italia placed a marble plaque at the entry of Dogana Vecchia Hotel in memory of this important visit.
