Aptly named in Spanish because of its proximity to the beautiful waterfall of the same name, this bungalow complex in the North Huasteca Region of Mexico is set in lush gardens and has stunning views of the river and the cataracts. The staff can organise excursions and such outdoor activities as white-water rafting and canyoneering, and will also arrange for canoes to be hired. Free coffee is served every morning on the riverfront terrace and à la carte meals are prepared in the on-site restaurant. All these detached units have their own private bathrooms and are equipped with both air-conditioned and central heating. The 10 bungalows all overlook the river and have access to a shared terrace with hammocks and an outdoor swimming pool that is open all year round. San Luis Potosi Airport is a 3-hour drive but, on request, staff will arrange for guests to be taken for a reasonable fee.
