The Lodge is situated 6 miles from Drumnadrochit on the A831 Glen Urquhart in the Scottish Highlands. From Drumnadrochit drive into the countryside through the village of Milton then Balnain follow the road past loch Meiklie and the little white church next to the loch carry on to the sign at the bottom of the road on the right through beautiful tree lined hills full of wild life and fauna changing with every season We are 20.5 miles from Inverness with good travel links for the UK and further The airport is approximately 30 miles from The Lodge and is located 9 miles east of the City of Inverness just off the main A96 trunk road it is served by local buse s which depart from Inverness Bus station approximately 5 minutes walk from the railway station. Highland Glen Lodge is tranquil and peaceful set in the picturesque Glen Glenurguhart We are within easy access from Loch Ness Cannich Beauly and Drumnadrochit own transport is recommended. Ben Nevis and Glencoe the Isle of Skye the Cairngorms National Park are within driving distance of the Lodge for days out or to stop at the lodge over night on the way. The area has been moulded by a combination of history and the climate The north coast 500 is accessed from the lodge as well as the popular tourist spots in the Highlands From the doorstep of the Lodge you can access the Corrimony reserve which is visited by some of the UK s finest diversity of birds ranging from black grouse to Scottish crossbills crested tits to soaring golden eagles. The upland area to the south is owned by the RSPB and run as Corrimony nature reserve the site covers 1531 hectar Glen Affricis just 6 miles with one of the largest surviving native pinewoods in the United Kingdom. Strathglass is set at the heart of some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland stretches from Glen Affric towards Beauly and is hart land of the defeated Jacobites with all the history culture food music and song handed down from generation to generation to this day. There are miles of on and off-road cycling and mountain biking routes. There is the Great Glen Cycle Route from Fort William to Inverness via Loch Ness Glenurquhart and Glen Affric Forest trails and Glen Strathfarrar linking Loch Ness to Corrimony Cairn and the RSPB s Corrimony Nature Reserve. The Affric Kintail Way is fully signposted over its 44-miles in length and can be walked in 4 or 5 stages and much much more. Optional dinner and packed lunch by prior arrangement.
From Drumnadrochit take the A831 to Cannich continue along the A831 for approximately 6 miles where you will see our sign turn right for 100m to our carpark.
