Hotel Terrace is set in a majestic mountain landscape, a fantastic Art Noveau hotel, built in 1903 and still looks just as impressive today. Even in the pre-war years the Terrace was embodiment of everything one imagines a luxury hotel to be. It has preserved this unique charm and splendor to the present day, weaving its spell to entice its national and international clientele to return again and again. The hotel has its own little rack railway which is used to transport guests and their luggage up to the hotel from a coach parking area in the village, since the road up to the hotel is too narrow for coaches. The rooms have modern furniture and are in good condition, as are the bathrooms. Most rooms have balconies with views over Engelberg and the surrounding mountains.
