The nearest town is Preggio (1 km), where you'll find a restaurant or two, and little else. For more city-flavoured excitement, go to Perugia (28 km), the capital of Umbria. Here Etruscan walls encase a city known for historic sites. If your sweet tooth acts up, take a detour to Perugina Chocolate Factory. On your way home you may want to see Lake Trasimeno up close; the view from your holiday villa is lovely, but a stroll on the shore is not to be missed.
