There is a regular train service from Glasgow to Gourock which connects with the Gourock Dunoon passenger car ferry. Suggested car routes from Glasgow 1. Take west bound M8 to Gourock for ferry to Dunoon. When taking the Western Ferry we advise on pre bought ferry tickets. 2. Take west bound M8 to Erskine Bridge then proceed west along Loch Lomond side on the A82 to Tarbert. Then take the A83 to the A815 (Dunoon) junction turning left. Follow signposts to the A886 to Strachur and turn right on to the A8003. Journey time by car is about one and a half hours through some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland.
