Skeldale House is a unique boutique style B&B situated in a wonderful Victorian three storey building in the quaint village of Askrigg which itself is surrounded by the outstanding breathtaking scenery of Wensleydale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Used in the filming of the BBC TV hit Series All Creatures Great & Small as James Herriots vets practice its probably one of the most famous frontages in the Dales It has undergone a full restoration program and many original features remain including the very famous front door and railings an impressive staircase original fireplaces beautiful moulded plasterwork and very high ceilings. All the rooms offer luxury accommodation where old and new is combined to give each room a completely individual stylish feel. Antique furniture is mixed with modern features including king sized beds in all but the twin large flat screen televisions and top of the range white Egyptian cotton bedding. The rooms are large and contain lounge areas where you can relax watch tv read or take in the wonderful surrounding views. Separate dressing rooms and ensuite bath or shower rooms give you an added feeling of space.

From M6. Leave M6 at Junction 37 turn right onto A684 (signposted Kendal Sedburgh) Turn Right onto A684 (signposted Sedburgh) continue forward Bear left onto A684 (signposted Leyburn) Continue forward to Askrigg. Arrive at Skeldale House on right. Approx 37miles from M6. From A1/M Leave A1/M at Leeming Bar services (signposted Northallerton) Take 1st exit off roundabout Take 2nd exit off roundabout bearing right towards Bedale. At T junction turn left onto A684 towards Bedale. Continue on through Bedale at T junction turn right onto the High Street and follow A684. Continue forwards until you reach Leyburn. at the roundabout in Leyburn turn left. Continue right through until you reach Bainbridge. Turn right just after village green signposted Askrigg. At T junction turn right and go straight forward into Askrigg. Skeldale House is in the heart of the village on the right. Approx 24 miles from A1/M
