The centre of Oba is situated approximately 2,5 km western to the centre of Alanya. Oba is the biggest quarter of Alanya and extends from the beach promenade in direction of the "Taunus" mountains. Oba due to its magnitude area can present all contemporaries. The community attached immense importance to design an attractive district and that you can see at the large pavements, small places and many parkways as well. The centre of Oba has a main street which in the summer months is closed for the traffic starting from 4 o `clock am and then pedestrianised to a traffic-free environment. Here you can find everything, shops for the daily requirement, cosy bars and restaurants and even in a small side street there is a small - "German / Turkish" Restaurant called "KISMET". There you "good and tasteful" can eat for small money. Many restaurants have extraordinary events with live music which invite to a long night on wonderful warm evenings.Every Monday in the quarter of Oba there is market-day. There you must go because this bazar is very clearly arranged and not so fast-pasted like the Friday-bazar in Alanya. The fruit you will get in an excellent quality to fantastic prices without bargain!!!In the middle of Oba, the river "DIM" is running which at several small places specially in sweltering summer months invites for cool refreshment-baths. A little bit upriver you will find a picnic-complex direct situated on the "DIM-River". After a fifteen minutes car-trip you will experience several wonderful adventures near by the "DIMCAY" - River and -Valley. Oba possess over a good public transport system and the drive to the centre of Alanya by bus only takes about ten minutes. More than 320 sunny days in the year, spaciously beaches, crystal clear water and one of the most beautiful sea costs of the world countervail against to spend relaxed and diversified holydays. In this district, you live together with the biggest attraction - the castle - in neighbour ship. Simultaneously you have a wonderful view from your balcony to the town, the mountains and the beaches. You can´t find a better splendid view somewhere else! This district is very peaceful and calm because there is only small traffic and lying outside of the rest of the town. The castle of Alanya divides the town into a western and eastern part and therefor effectively this quarter of the town is the centre of Alanya. That means, although you are living on this mountain-hill everything is available in striking distance. Either you can take the bus or you climb up the stairs built in mountainside. In this manner, you will come direct to the shops, to the town and other activities. But if you have a walking impairment, you should think about to visit this district with many different ground planes and stairs.Kleopatra BeachThe Kleopatra / Damlataş Beach is situated on the western part of the peninsula of Alanya and divides the town in two parts. Purportedly, this would be one of the most beautiful beaches of Alanya. The sand in this part is finer and it`s less cliffy in exchange the deep water is starting faster than on the eastern beach part. When Queen Kleopatra from Egypt received the area surround Alanya from the roman commander Antonius as a gift, she daily was bathing at the foot of the cliffs. Primary, a tunnel passed from the castle to her restricted beach and she was carried through this tunnel whenever she wanted to bath. The 3,5-km long beach also is well known as Damlataş-Beach so called from the Damlataş-Flowstone-Cave, situated in the western part of the peninsula which was discovered in 1948. Today, the cave is one of many tourist attractions in Alanya. In 2017 a new cable car to the mountain hill will be built.
