An elaborate 500-year-old heritage haveli, the Jaisal Castle was converted into a hotel 38 years ago. It is spread over a relatively large area and comprises of numerous storeys. Located within the Jaisalmer Fort, the heritage hotel's courtyard is flanked by the fortress wall on one side, with a terrace dining area on top of the battlements.Located in a narrow alley within the Jaisalmer Fort, the hotel enjoys proximity to all places of tourist interest within the city. It is accessible by an approximate 250 metre walk on foot from the main parking area within the Jaisalmer Fort. While the airport, railway station and bus stand are within a 3 km radius of the hotel, the main market is just a kilometre away. Please note, the airport is operational from October to March only.Besides offering the regular facilities, the hotel organises sightseeing tours and gala dinner with folk dance and music performances on request. Other services available at Jaisal Castle include a car rental service, doctor on call and airport/railway transfers at an extra charge.The 12 rooms at this highly ornate mansion are adorned with ethnic furnishings while one of its rooms boasts of exquisite murals. The haveli has been renovated to add all modern luxuries including air conditioner and cushioned chairs besides attached bath with hot and cold running water in all rooms. No room has a television or telephone, however, the telephone at the reception can be used by guests to make local/STD/ISD calls (on chargeable basis).Jaisal Castle has a covered dining area adjoining the central courtyard besides a roof top dining area. In the evenings, the central courtyard is also used for alfresco dining. The hotel serves delectable Indian, Chinese, Continental and Rajasthani fare from 7 am to 12 midnight. For the convenience of guests, room service is also available.The splendid view of the Jaisalmer City from the terrace on top of the Fort wall.
