Stalheim hotel, with its magnificent views of the Nærøydalen valley, is one of the attractions of the round trip Norway in a nutshell. Ideal for stopovers for travellers on this roundtrip. The first hotel at Stalheim was opened in 1885, and by 1895 had been expanded to cater for about 150 guests. Word of the hotel's high standard, combined with the stunning view of Naroydalen valley, travelled abroad. Royalty and other notabilities from far and wide were frequent guests, the most loyal being Keiser Wilhelm II, who visited Stalheim twenty summers in a row.The hotel's lounges boast a unique exhibition of Norwegian and European antiques. Ideal base for short and long excursions to the famous fjords and mountains of western Norway. Stalheim folk museum, with its range of exciting exhibits, is close to the hotel.
